Transmutation
This project explores massing strategies for a waste-to-energy facility through material transformation. Starting with simple box massings shaped by equipment needs, a 3D model was printed and cast. Layers of cement and wax were poured at angles into the mold, and the wax was later burned away to create voids that reveal the relationship between solid and absence. This process of casting, layering, and subtraction reflects the project’s broader themes of energy conversion, material reuse, and architectural adaptation, where destruction becomes a form of creation.
