Optical Massing

This project deconstructs massing into layered spatial fragments using clear acrylic slices. A 3D model was divided into a grid of acrylic planes, each printed with black massing elements. When reassembled, shifting alignments create fluctuating perceptions of depth, density, and void.

The interplay of transparency and shadow generates optical instability—depth is not fixed but activated by movement and perspective. By translating volume into intersecting surfaces, this study reinterprets architectural form through sectional layering and visual distortion, revealing new possibilities for spatial perception and material ambiguity.
